Short version: Everything on InkBytes is free to use. Tools are provided as-is with no warranty. Don't do anything harmful. That's essentially it.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using inkbytes.co.uk and any associated tools, games, or resources (collectively, "the Services"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
These terms apply to all visitors and users. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
2. Who Operates This Site
InkBytes is an independent project operated by a sole developer based in the United Kingdom, trading under the handle inkbytesuk. Contact: inkbytesuk@gmail.com.
3. The Services Are Free
All tools, games, and content on InkBytes are provided free of charge. There are no paid tiers, subscriptions, or premium features. You do not need to create an account to use anything on this site.
4. Licence to Use
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Services for your own personal, educational, or commercial purposes.
The source code for InkBytes tools is released under the MIT Licence where stated in the repository. You are free to fork, modify, and redistribute code in accordance with that licence.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or tamper with the Services in ways intended to cause harm
- Use automated scripts to generate excessive load on the hosting infrastructure
- Impersonate InkBytes or claim ownership of InkBytes content without permission
- Attempt to exploit or attack the site or its hosting provider
Since all tools run client-side, there is very little server infrastructure to abuse — but please be sensible regardless.
6. Intellectual Property
The InkBytes name, logo, and branding are the property of the operator. Unauthorised use of the InkBytes name or brand in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation is not permitted.
Tool content (code, designs, game mechanics) is original work created by the operator unless otherwise stated. Attribution is appreciated but not required for personal use.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. This includes but is not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Services will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that any defects will be corrected. Tools such as PrintForge are provided for personal and creative use only. STL files generated by InkBytes tools should be reviewed by the user before printing — we make no guarantee that output files will be watertight, printable, or suitable for any specific purpose.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, InkBytes and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Services.
Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us — which, since everything is free, is zero.
9. Children
InkBytes tools contain no advertising, no accounts, no data collection, and no external links within the tool interfaces themselves. Parental supervision is recommended for general internet use, but is not required for the safe use of InkBytes tools from a data-privacy perspective. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
10. Third-Party Links
The site may contain links to third-party websites (e.g. GitHub). We are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of those sites. Visiting external links is at your own discretion.
11. Availability & Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time without notice. We also reserve the right to update these terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
